About the Position: Performs office administration duties in the support of the Resident Office and subordinate Project Offices.
Duties
Updates and maintains office files and record systems to include construction contract and administrative functions, utilizing an automated information system.
Prepares travel orders supervisor and/or office staff. Arranges travel itineraries and makes all airline and hotel reservations.
Reviews incoming correspondence routed to the Resident Engineer.
Maintains Resident Office operating budget.
Tracks expenditures, and periodically reviews and analyzes expenditures related to budgeted amounts for each project office.
Formulates each year's operating budget assuring availability of sufficient funds for the Resident Office's personnel and operating resources.
Provides advice to supervisors in the Resident and Project offices on general administrative practices, functional alignments and arrangement of duties.
Requirements

- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.

GS-05: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes using MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook to review and create a variety of documents and extract data to produce reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).
OR
Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
GS-06: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes budgeting account records and reports in an office setting and using MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
OR
Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as public administration, business management, human resources, psychology, etc.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages.
TYPING PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENT: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors.
Education
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
