About the Position: The position is located at the Directorate of Public Works, Environmental Division, Ft. Moore, Georgia 31905. Fort Moore is located 100 miles south of Atlanta and is adjacent to Columbus, Georgia and Phenix City, Alabama.
Duties
Exercise considerable responsibility for decisions and/or recommendations in matters relating to development and execution of Environmental Programs.
Coordinate with local environmental regulatory agencies, public and private organizations and other individuals on matters relating to environmental protection and preservation.
Prepare reports and evaluates environmental programs for effectiveness and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Ensure GIS based analysis and all data acquisition needs are accounted for to effectively support NEPA requirements.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing administrative and program work relating to Environmental Protection programs such as: National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act, Resource Conservation Recovery Act, Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act, Endangered Species Act, etc.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
