You will serve as an Information Technology Specialist in the systems administration specialty area in the Unmanned & Theater Undersea Warfare (USW) Department, Theater Undersea Systems Engineering Division, Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Combat Systems and Interoperability (C5I) Fleet Support Branch, Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Keyport (NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV KEYPORT WA).

Duties

You will provide customer support to users from a variety of commands and communities throughout the Navy. You will provide hardware, software and network assistance to fleet users, field representatives and program office personnel in every aspect of the application: setup, use, installation, administration, etc. You will collaborate with the software engineers and systems analysts on the software development team to troubleshoot and resolve complex application and data issues experienced by system users. You will provide lead system administrator support for AN/UYQ100 Undersea Warfare-Decision Support System (USW-DSS) and/or AN/SQQ-34 Aircraft CarrierTactical Support Center (CV-TSC), and other Integrated Warfare Systems complex networks assigned. You will lead upgrades of hardware and software, effects expert repairs, installs and configures new IT equipment including USW-DSS and CV-TSC. You will lead documents processes, system and interface specifications, installation documentation and test plans. You will perform final review of user manuals, test plans, test specifications, system security, deployment and other documents for accuracy. You will review and approve technical policies, develops and implements strategies and management guidelines for cybersecurity and IT within the Department. You will perform final review of documentation and artifacts necessary for submission of cybersecurity accreditation and Fleet Readiness Certification Board (FRCB) packages. You will oversee technical execution of cybersecurity maintenance plans and activities.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 451/411 level ADVANCED (A) within 12 months of appointment.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Leading or overseeing the administration of Information Technology (IT) systems integration methods to plan or coordinate the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, or maintenance of hardware and software systems for warfare systems and subsystems. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
