As a Building Information Specialist, you will ensure accurate, uniform, and properly mapped data in the Central Facilities Repository, which tracks, manages, measures, maintains, and reports on the building information (2D, 3D, Building Models) for Federally-owned and/or leased space.Location of position: PBS, Portfolio Management Division, in Region 7.

We are currently filling one vacancy, but additional vacancies may be filled as needed.
Duties
Serve as the regional resource/technical specialist for the proper mapping and management of building information contained within extensive and complex PBS business systems.
Ensure that building information for all Federally-managed space and all leased multi-tenant facility locations within the Region is maintained and updated in a manner that properly accounts for all categories of building information.
Verify current building information in conformance with proposed and bona fide operating requirements. Analyze Federal office and specialuse space (laboratories, conference and classroom/training facilities, structurally changed areas, etc.) to reflect building modifications, renovations, lease acquisitions, new construction, etc.
Ensure that all federally-owned properties and multi-tenant lease facilities are accurately documented, and that changes in current building conditions are recorded and corrected in a timely manner. Perform analyses of building plans and models and reviews data to evaluate and potentially resolve any special concerns or specific problems.
Develop and/or personally conduct formal and on-the-job training; workshops and other presentations; recommend certification requirements and/or other technical development initiatives, and provide input to the development of measures designed to assess PBS’ overall success in managing data integrity and efficient integration with other business and information systems.

The GS-12 salary range starts at $86,962 per year and varies by location. If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected. To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or higher in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience analyzing building plans and/or models using Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Building Information Modeling (BIM); managing a building information library; and enforcing data management standards, policies, and procedures.
