You will serve as a ORDNANCE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC LEADER in the ORDNANCE OPERATIONS DIVISION, NAVY MUNITIONS COMMAND of NAVMUNITIONSCMD EA DIV DET SEWELLS PT.
Duties
You will perform receipt and issue inspections of ordnance items including receipt/issue quantities to documentation and certifies items as ready for issue.
You will determine sequences of moving, stacking, loading and unloading ordnance based on the size, shape, height, weight, special handling requirements and regulatory procedures.
You will perform assembly/disassembly of ordnance commodities.
You will conduct receipt and transfer inspections of CLS missiles.
You will operate forklift trucks inside and outside of production buildings and magazines.
You will receives/offloads ordnance materials from trucks, vessels, and other conveyances.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license and a commercial driver's license (CDL) endorsement for hazardous material for off base or over public highway movement/shipment.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Successful completion of DON Ammunition Sentencing training for Quality Inspection certification.
- Successful completion of explosives handling and safety training
- Successful completion of blocking and bracing training.
- Ability to pass physical examination for explosives operations personnel every two years until age 60, annually thereafter.
- Ability to obtain and maintain materials handling equipment (MHE) operator's license.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an explosives hazardous materials driver's license to operator motor vehicles having gross vehicle weight of more than 32,000 pounds.
- Successful completion of automated information systems and inventory training.
Qualifications

Leads three or more other workers to accomplish submarine weapon and ordnance handling equipment maintenance and RSS&I functions.
Understanding of ordnance and supply operations and management information systems.
Follows established policies and procedures to safety and economically accomplish work assignments within priority schedules set by management.
