You will serve as an ORDNANCE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC In the ORDNANCE OPERATIONS DIVISION (262), NMC LANT UNIT NORFOLK of NAVMUNITIONSCMD EA DIV DET SEWELLS PT.

Duties

You will perform and record corrective and scheduled preventative maintenance on submarine weapon and ordnance handling equipment as required. You will be operating forklift trucks inside and outside of production buildings and magazines, trucks and other confined spaces on ramps and outside areas. You will receipt, storage, segregation, inspect, and issue ordnance material. You will assure the quality, quantity and safety of ordnance materials and operations as related to the receipt, storage, issue, handling, packing and shipping of such items. You will perform receipt and issue inspections on ordnance items and certifies for OTR shipments. Conducts on/offload of ordnance materials to include Tomahawk VLS/CLS assets. You will be using 20MM and 2.75 inch rocket loading procedures in order to support the Armed Helo Program. You will operate motor vehicles to support the movement of ordnance materials.

Requirements

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Selectee will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
