This position is located in the Division of Resolutions and Receiverships, Washington, DC or Dallas, TX of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in the development, coordination, and implementation of internal control and risk management policies, procedures, and programs associated with evaluation of DRR's functions and operations.

Duties
Identifies key functional activities, conducts risk assessments, suggests potential internal reviews, monitors review schedule progress and results, and provides input to the DRR’s annual Assurance Statement and participates in DRR’s annual risk assessment as assigned.
Designs, develops, and implements program area reviews, including visitation guidelines for field personnel, to ensure a thorough, consistent, impartial, and accurate report of observations. Provides expertise in establishing policies, procedures, and guidelines to effect corrective measures, with appropriate follow-up to assure corrective measures have been taken.
Plans, conducts, and prepares reports for operational, internal control, and compliance reviews of DRR programs and operations. Establishes the review objectives and scope, develops detailed review programs and questionnaires, determines the nature and extent of testing, collects and analyzes information, compiles working papers, discusses review results and recommendations with DRR management, prepares written reports, and follows-up on planned corrective actions.
Reviews audit and evaluation report findings for DRR activities performed by the Office of Inspector General and the Government Accountability Office to identify any unfavorable trends requiring changes to DRR’s operations or policies. Works closely with Internal Review management to discuss and formulate recommendations for correcting finding.
Qualifications
Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS/CG- 12 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience assisting in the planning and conducting compliance or management audits/reviews that address internal controls of asset management and sales, or operational activities of financial institutions or financial institution regulatory agencies.
