THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST, Position Description Number T5262000 and is part of the CO USPFO, National Guard.
Duties
The purpose of the position is to: Plan, manage and direct the daily Commercial Traffic Management Program for both equipment and passenger movements; develop traffic management programs for both peacetime and wartime; provide technical traffic management advisory services; establish operating requirements; and formulate local commercial traffic management policies. Serves as the technical transportation advisor to all statewide operating officials on all matters dealing with commercial movement of personnel and equipment. Ensures that traffic management and transportation services required to support the mission are accomplished. Inspects, or provides for inspection of, commercial carrier terminals to locate and expedite delivery of astray government shipments. Procures domestic and international travel for both military and civilian passengers. Maintains all transportation related automated systems and databases to support the Traffic Management Programs for the State. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be a current Dual Status T32 Federal Technician within CO-USPFO.
- Incumbent will complete Hazmat Certification and Radiation Safety Training within six months of employment and recertify every two (2) years.
- Work may require access to classified information. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
- The incumbent of this position description must have at a minimum, a completed National Agency Check (NAC) prior to position assignment.

Must have experience or knowledge in each of the following:
1. Industry practices and procedures and the established regulations, requirements, and techniques related to a transportation functional program.
2. Organizational practices and activities and skill in applying this knowledge to plan and accomplish a variety of complex work assignments, and the ability to identify, analyze and resolve transportation issues or problems.
3. Financial/budgetary requirements sufficient to perform monthly reconciliation of all charges associated with the transportation program.
Education
Education cannot be substituted for Specialized Experience for this position.
