Qualifications

Basic Requirements:  Degree: major or equivalent in psychology for all specializations except clinical psychology. This specialization has additional educational requirements, as stated below: Clinical Psychology: For this position grades GS-11 and above, satisfactory completion of all the requirements for doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology is required. And Specialized Experience:  You qualify for the GS-13 level (starting salary $117,962) if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level performing duties such as:  Providing psychological evaluation, delivering therapeutic mental health treatment modalities for personal. Providing consultation, collaboration and follow up of mental health services. Assisting and referring patients with acute, chronic or severe mental illnesses and dual diagnosis patient populations. Possessing knowledge and experience working with law enforcement personnel, or first responders, and the impact of the inherent job stressors on the personal, familial, and professional well-being of those individuals. Selective Placement Factor: In addition to the minimum qualifications described above, you must meet the following requirement(s) to be considered qualified for the position: Applicants are required to hold a current/non-expired U.S. state mental health license as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Licensed Counseling Psychologist or equivalent.  Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
