This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Human Resources Division (HRD).
This position(s) primary purpose is to support the Human Resources Division in the areas of contract and administrative management; financial, budget and fiscal management; human resource management; workforce staffing projects, policies and procedures; and communications.
Duties
As a Supervisory Business Operations Specialist your typical work assignments may include:
Managing a financial portfolio, to include a budget of over $25M and an acquisition profile of $20M, ensuring proper management and allocation of available funds consisting of obligations and commitments, capitalized and non-capitalized property, contracts and office-assigned facilities.
Providing oversight, coordination, and integration of multiple functions relative to audits, self- inspections, financial
readiness, special projects, and briefings.
Oversight to ensure operations are conducted in compliance with applicable laws, that funds property, and other assets are safeguarded against waste, loss, unauthorized use, or misappropriation.
Establishing overall office managerial and administrative objectives, developing long-range plans and identifying required resources in order to promote an efficient, economical, and progressively diversified work force.
Directing, coordinating, and overseeing work through subordinate supervisors; providing administrative and technical supervision necessary for accomplishing the work of the Section.
Selectee is required to become certified in program management and COR Level III within six (6) months of assignment.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet the Specialized Experience requirements as noted below. Qualification claims will be subject to verification.
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 Federal grade level performing the following duties: 1) Managing the operations programs related to policies, procedures, and systems supporting administrative and financial organization's objectives; 2) Planning, to include tracking and reporting on accomplishments of programs, goals and milestones that determine program efficiency; 3) Performing the full range of supervisory duties, including planning, organizing, directing and evaluating the work of subordinate staff members; 4) Resolving complex and highly controversial issues and problems; and 5) Monitoring progress toward achieving strategic organizational goals, and evaluating, and implementing action plans to improve program performance.
Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience for this position includes:
