As a Property Disposal Specialist (Utilization/Donation), the incumbent will work with the GSA personal property utilization and disposal programs, and help to track and expedite the flow of excess/surplus and exchange/sale property throughout the utilization/donation and/or sales process. Location: Federal Acquisition Service (FAS), Personal Property Management Division.   The office is located within a warehouse environment at 6808 Loisdale Road, Bldg. A, Suite 1 Springfield, VA 22150.

Duties

The Personal Property Center (PPC) Branch is also responsible for performing a variety of utilization and donation functions. They serve as an excellent alternative for federal agencies facing property disposal dilemmas. The PPC acts as a repository for deliveries of unneeded property (mostly office furniture and office equipment) from federal agencies that are looking for green disposal solutions.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship or National (Residents of American Samoa and Swains Island)
  • Meet all eligibility criteria within 30 days of the closing date
  • Meet time-in-grade within 30 days of the closing date, if applicable
  • Register with Selective Service if you are a male born after 12/31/1959
  • Direct Deposit of salary check to financial organization required.

Qualifications

For a brief video on creating a Federal resume, click here.  The GS-7 salary range starts at $55,924 per year.   To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level or higher in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience that equipped the applicant with knowledge, skills and abilities to perform utilization, donation, marketing and related functions for excess and surplus personal property. OR Education: One full year of graduate level education leading in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Superior Academic Achievement:  Superior Academic Achievement (SAA) at the baccalaureate level is fully qualifying at the GS-7 level.  To claim SAA, submit documentation of one of the following:      Class standing -- You must be in the upper third of your graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses.     Grade-point average (rounded to one decimal point) of:               a. 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better) as recorded on your official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of                       your curriculum; or               b. 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B+" or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in your major field or the required courses in your major field completed during your final 2 years of                     the curriculum.     Election to membership in a national scholastic honor society in one of the national scholastic honor societies listed by the Association of College Honor Societies. OR Combination of Education and Experience:  A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.  If qualifying based on education, applicants must submit a copy of their college or university transcript(s) by the closing date of announcements to verify qualifications.
