This position is located in the Division of Risk Management Supervision, Headquarters of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides advice, guidance and interpretation of policies and procedures related to personnel and administrative regulations, resolves difficult and complex operating problems, and prepares policy recommendations for program improvement.
Duties
Provides direct advice and guidance to the supervisors and managers nationwide on various policies and procedures related to administrative programs.
Provides guidance and interpretation of policies and procedures to the Chief, Administrative Management Section and Division managers. Resolves problems and develops and implements program improvements as required.
Provides advice on staffing matters, including management options and alternatives, with regard to recruitment, selections, reorganizations, realignments and organizational change actions. Evaluates and makes recommendations on recruitment requests, and position reviews. Devises, recommends, and gains acceptance of changes in the way management structure and fill positions.
Prepares informational packages for the Director and Deputy Director. Participates in special studies and analytical projects related to current and proposed organizational and program initiatives. Gathers necessary information, and prepares briefing materials for the supervisor or other RMS senior management.
Accountable for running CHRIS reports, updating organizational charts, monitoring tickler files and associated reports, updating and correcting staffing tables as necessary, and coordinating with supervisors and staff to ensure timely receipt of documents and completion of actions.
Generates reports and other information from data base systems in support of information requests or regular assigned reporting responsibilities. Monitors the Division's databases for accuracy and compliance with policy and procedure.
Qualifications
Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Applicant must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 12 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience overseeing and/or coordinating personnel management and administrative program operations; making recommendations; collaborating with customers and/or partners and establishing program goals and priorities.
