The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a civilian position in the Wing Commander's Support Staff (CSS). As such, the incumbent will administer and direct the Wing Commander's Support Staff functions to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Duties
Plan, organize, and oversee the full complement of activities within the Wing Commander's Support Staff (CSS)
Plan, organize and execute all Wing information management and personnel activities
Manage training programs for administration and personnel (3FXX1) in accordance with established command guidelines
Serve as the Wing Staff point of contact and liaison with the servicing Force Support Squadron on personnel and manpower actions.
Prepare and deliver presentations such as briefings, training sessions, and consultations with serviced Commander(s), other staff agencies and functional areas to secure cooperation, resolve controversial matters and convey information
Participate in special studies and projects relating to planning, coordinating, and analyzing the effectiveness/efficiency of the Wing CSS in meeting Air Force Administration program goals
Develop CSS consolidated resource plan for staff support to include budget, equipment, computers, supplies and required services

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes (1) In-depth knowledge of military personnel policies, procedures, rules, guidelines, instructions, etc., to understand respective programs and discuss findings with functional managers; (2) Knowledge of the mission and unit is essential in addition to established management principles, techniques of analysis and evaluation to identify and recommend solutions to problems in organizational structure, staffing, administrative procedures, work processes or workload distribution; (3) knowledge of administrative processes, procedures automated systems, personal computers, and software employed, in order to make reports, correspondence, and extract data.

EDUCATION: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B or J.D. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as [insert applicable field(s) of study]. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
In-depth knowledge of administrative and military personnel policies, procedures, Reserve mission, training methods and programs, rules, guidelines, and instructions.
In-depth knowledge of the automated systems, personal computers, hardware, and software.
Ability to analyze data/products. Ability to plan, organize and direct the functions and staff of an organization; communicate effectively with diverse groups of individuals, both orally and in writing.
Knowledge of analytical and investigative techniques to measure the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity. Knowledge of management principles within both the civilian and military personnel systems, and the ability to integrate the civilian and military personnel aspects in order to successfully accomplish the organization's mission.
Knowledge of administrative processes and procedures. Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures.
Knowledge of training goals and objectives to assist in the management and implementation of training goals for the CSS personnel.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
