This Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for numerous types of equipment found at the facility and having the ability to repair both mechanical and electrical devices within that piece of equipment. Equipment includes but not limited to automatic doors operators, laundry equipment, dietetic equipment, compressors, AC/DC motors, electrical/gas/diesel generators, elevators, variable frequency drive systems, and pneumatic control systems.
Duties
Major duties:
The work includes mechanical ability to follow proper procedures and techniques to disassemble, test, troubleshoot, modify, and repair and fireplace defective parts and components.
Removing, replacing, tightening, and splicing defective wiring, controls, switches, relays and electrical/electronic components.
Refers to blueprints, schematics, engineering and manufacturers' specification, wiring diagrams and other such controlling criteria, if available, that indicate the nature of the repair or installation to be made and uses a variety of test equipment such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, ammeters, flow meters, feelers, depth tension and spring gauges, micrometers and dial indicators.
Make adjustments set cams or other controls, and perform operational tests of items for specified performance characteristics such as torque, force, voltage, and current consumption or to detect excessive vibration, overheating, surge or drag.
Skilled in setting up and operating machine tools such as small lathes, milling machines, drill presses, welding, and sheet metal bending tools to manufacture components parts or remachine existing parts.
Plan the sequence of the work, make determinations concerning the feasibility of repairing the equipment,
Work Schedule: Full time, Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT: Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element, which usually appears as question 1 in the on-line questionnaire. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities.
