This position serves as the 1st level supervisor & provides support & technical assistance to Hospital management by evaluating, analyzing & coordinating the operations of the Patient Registration Staff. Also provides technical assistance to the Business Office Manager & Health Information Management Director on matters involving Patient Registration. Required to supervise staff who work on a rotational basis for shift, weekends or holiday duty & ensure patient registration coverage as required.
Duties
Supervise the Patient Registration Staff consisting of six Medical Support Assistants.
Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates and prepares schedules for completion of work.
Advise or counsel employees on work and administrative matters and effects minor disciplinary measures.
Allocate work assignments, coordinate work efforts, resolve operating and administrative problems, review and evaluate work efforts.
Perform audits of patient registration demographics and insurance interviews patients to obtain pertinent patient registration information.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Monitoring and making work assignments; providing input on performance; resolving daily workplace issue and maintaining efficient workflow; assuring coverage of all areas of responsibility; conducting ongoing reviews to ensure quality of work; ensuring accurate and timely scheduling of appointments; providing guidance to staff members to include changes in policies and procedures; distributing and balancing workload; creating and maintaining employee work schedules; orientating and providing on-the-job training for new and current employees; ensuring all training requirements are met and organizing the work structure of assigned areas.
