The primary purpose of this position is to Provide an Element Chiefwith responsibility for all back shop avionics and electro-environmental systems repair functions.
Duties
- Establishes work schedules and maintenance plans to accomplish the mission of the Avionics Shop.
- Attends and participates in various meetings in order to provide inputs and implement maintenance plans.
- Inform personnel of policy or directive changes.
- Plans and designs operational function for a multi-shift operation.
- Establishes supply accounts for assigned MDS's to include equipment, bench stock, and aircraft DIFM accounts.
- Ensure all personnel observe safety, good housekeeping and fire precautions, and comply with appliance cm ironical standards.
- Serves as Assistant Accessories Flight Chief. Assumes duties and responsibilities of the Flight Chief during his absence.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
- This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing.
- Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.
- This position requires Lead/Supervisory duties.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WS-2600 Electronic Equipment Installation and Maintenance Group. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
The screen out element for this position is ability to do the work of an ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC SUPERVISOR without more than normal supervision.
JOB ELEMENTS: Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of a wide range of principles; processes, and techniques of C-5, C-17, or KC-135 aircraft avionics and electro-environment systems maintenance and personnel management policies practices, and procedures, including sexual harassment and Equal Employment Opportunity/ Equal Employment Treatment.
2. Ability to plan and schedule work to achieve maximum utilization of personnel, facilities, and equipment to include determining resources required to accomplish mission.
3. Ability to interpret instructions and explain how to accomplish the work.
4. Ability to keep records and generate reports.
5. Knowledge of applicable Air Force, civilian, and DOD safely regulations, policies and procedures.
6. Knowledge of the use and maintenance of hand and power tools, equipment, and precision measuring and /or test equipment common to trades supervised. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. diagrams, sketches, and technical specifications. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Must be physically active able to walk. stand, stoop, kneel, climb, and lift up to 40 pounds.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
