About the Position: You will serve as Chief of the Resource Management Section at the Libby Dam, a multipurpose hydropower project.

Duties

Manage the Recreation, Fish and Wildlife, and Natural and Cultural Resource Programs for the project. Perform public relations activities in support of the Project and the Corps of Engineers. Direct the use of funds, materials, and facilities to carry out complex programs. Develop and execute annual program budgets. Responsible for resolution of encroachments on public lands. Serve as a contracting officer representative. Coordinate cooperative agreements with non-profit partners. Supervises a skilled team of permanent and temporary personnel engaged in recreation/resource management.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A valid state driver's license is required. Incumbent will operate motor (up to 7500 GVW) vehicles on all types of road surfaces including severe weather conditions; except during those times state law enforcement agencies prohibit travel.
  • Incumbent may be called upon to operate a Class 1 motorboat and may be required to obtain the required certification.
  • This position requires you to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job at the GS-12 level, you must meet the qualification requirement above using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: CommunicationsNatural Resource ManagementProgram ManagementTeambuilding Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
