Duties
As a STRATEGIC OPERATIONS ADVISOR at the GS-0301-13/14 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Providing strategic operational advice to the Operations and Integration (OI) directorate leadership and coordinates implementation of decisions and guidance among the OI Directorates five Departments (Operational Analysis, Operations, Contingency Operations, Mission Support, and Global Integration).
Operating at the strategic, operational, and tactical levels.
Problem solving to finding team-centric solutions to both highly complex and administrative tasks.
Designing strategic review processes to measure risk to OI's Combat Support missions and the impact of OI's capabilities on DoD strategy and campaign objectives.
Developing policy and procedural guidance to ensure OI compliance with higher headquarters direction.
Promoting methods to influence the culture and the morale of the workforce.
Performing administrative functions on behalf of the OI team such as supply purchases, burn bag runs, recall rosters, and equipment accountability.
Operating on-site most days a week in a dynamic environment across OI Departments, other DTRA and DOD organizations, and with the U.S. inter-agency, foreign partners, and allies.
Directly accessing to key Agency leaders with expectation to invest in relationships with mission implementers at the action officer level.
Problem solving, coalition building, strategic design, and assiduous attention to detail.
Forward thinking, strategic planning, and methods to ensure accountability.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
- Incumbent will be expected to work at both Ft Belvoir and Reston locations.
- Incumbent will be required to work across OI's NCR facilities to include OI installations on Fort Belvoir and in Reston.
- Will be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
- Must be willing to work under situational pressure and constantly changing requirements.
Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service:
Responsibility for the operationalization and integration of capabilities to deter strategic attack against the United States and its allies; prevent, reduce, and counter Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) and emerging threats; and prevail against WMD-armed adversaries in crisis and conflict.
Effectively providing administrative direction to staff, programs, and capabilities to support higher headquarter objectives and to efficiently execute specified and implied tasks to completion.
Coordinating major staff actions and events, ensuring consistency with overall Agency philosophies and procedures; and influencing and motivating persons or groups.
You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service:
Directly supporting critical counter weapons of mass destruction initiatives.
Coordinating across organizational boundaries to carry out assigned operational and management planning functions and deliver major milestones on compressed timelines.
Analyzing issues/problems in order to anticipate potential impact on organizational management, battle rhythms, and leadership priorities and plan, assist, coordinate with persons or groups.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
