This position is located in the US Department of Agriculture, Departmental Administration, Office of Human Resources Management, Human Resources Operations Division (HROD). The incumbent performs duties in support of HROD including those related to human resources (HR) information systems.
Duties
Conducts comprehensive and ongoing reviews to ensure data accuracy and integrity in actions processed in HR information systems.
Runs reports to identify issues, directs and monitors corrections and provides ongoing technical support to others when applicable.
Provides training and instruction to superiors and others on electronic position information systems and processing within HR systems.
Participates in meetings to support the National Finance Center and HR operations in the designs, requirements, implementation, testing of system improvements, enhancements and changes.
Provides advice and guidance on the processing of complicated non-routine personnel actions.
Processes the full range of reoccurring personnel actions that include appointments, separations, promotions, reassignments, transfers and reviews personnel action requests for accuracy.
Assist the HR Staffing Specialist in maintaining accurate, audit ready case files for staffing and recruitment actions.
Requirements

Qualifications
Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including specialized experience and/or education, as defined below.
GS-06: Possess one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05, or its non-Federal equivalent that included experience providing information pertaining to a variety of human resources matters; assisting with on-boarding; reviewing documents for completeness and obtaining additional information as required; establishing and maintaining a variety of personnel files; and entering information into an automated system or database for personnel actions and payroll documents.
GS-07: Possess one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06, or its non-Federal equivalent entering information into an automated system or database for personnel actions and payroll documents, assisting with employee benefits programs; providing information pertaining to a variety of human resources matters; handling pre-employment processing and on-boarding, providing personnel security assistance with HR related forms, and securing employment data.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
