Duties
If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected Human Resources team. Typical work assignments will include:
Providing leadership to HR Specialists providing advisory and oversight services in the following subject areas: staffing and recruitment, classification, benefits, and personnel action processing;
Planning work to be accomplished, setting goals and priorities, and preparing schedules for completion of work;
Providing technical advice and assistance to resolve complex recruitment and placement problems;
Providing training and education to supervisors as well as HR staff on competitive and excepted service hiring authorities; and
Providing advisory services that promote merit system principles and the effective identification and referral of sufficient well-qualified candidates to meet organizational needs.
Requirements
- You must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
- Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation
- You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable.

- If selected, you may be required to complete a one year probationary period.
- Time-in-Grade: Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.
- You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement and before placement in the position.
- If selected, you will be subject to the satisfactory completion of a one year supervisory or managerial probationary period unless this requirement has been met previously.
Qualifications
Specialized Experience: To be eligible at the GS-14 level, you must meet one full year of specialized experience at the GS-13 level in the Federal service performing the following types of duties: providing advisory services and technical guidance in regards to Federal Civilian staffing and recruitment including competitive and excepted service hiring authorities; direct experience in all facets of recruiting for positions via Merit Promotion and Delegated Examining from start to finish; and, providing oversight of individual hiring actions ensuring recruitments, qualifications, eligibility and veteran preference determinations and appointments are correct.
