This position is located in the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Office of the Chief Administrative Officer.

Duties

As a Supervisory Space Management Specialist, you will: Develop space management policy and deliver branch services that are responsive to clients' requirements, support Departmental activities, and are integrated with other Division, OCHCO, and Federal initiatives and programs. Furnish authoritative functional advice on space policy, real property management, and construction management programs, initiatives, and practices. Make decisions or advise the Division Director on highly visible issues within the purview of the branch and resolves controversial cases that require application of senior-level experience, thorough knowledge of space and real property management, a keen understanding of organizations served, knowledge of precedents, sound judgment, and discretion.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. Specialized experience for the GS-14 is defined as one year of experience at the GS-13 level, or equivalent, that is directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience is defined as developing policies, and providing technical advice for space design and inspection. Examples of this experience include: Supervising or leading a team of employees and monitoring their progress towards accomplishing goals and meeting deadlines; OR Applying analytical techniques for assessing the effectiveness or efficiency of space management operations or work processes; OR Developing and monitoring budgets for space projects and other issues related to space management, and developing and monitoring rent and security cost estimates; OR Presenting and implementing recommendations to high level management in order to resolve an issue or overcome a challenge. Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resume. Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-14 you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks. Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
