About the Position: This position is in the Defense Health Agency (DHA) under the policy guidance and direction of the Office of the Secretary of Defense (Health Affairs) (OASD (HA)). The ASD (HA) is responsible for the overall policy and guidance of the medical services of the military departments and the political sensitivities related to these activities as expressed by OSD, Congress, the White House, and the civilian sector.
Duties
Serve as a Program Manager for the Force Health Protection Quality Assurance (FHPQA) Program.
Function as an expert in the research, development, implementation, coordination, and monitoring of the FHPQA program, policies, and activities to evaluate, assess, and improve on program efficiency and effectiveness.
Review and interpret new and established directives, instructions, and regulations for potential impact on FHPQA, Health Readiness or Public Health objectives, operating policies, or work operations.
Support administrative and technical activities as well as responsible for advising leadership on ways to improve the quality and efficiency of other health readiness efforts.
Participate on multi-service/department senior level working groups. Formulates policies, procedures, and operations plans that impact strategic and operational decisions.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

leadership on improving health programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13)..
