As the Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist (Office Chief) you will be responsible for the leadership of the logistics and property management office and will collaborate with key personnel in the Office of Strategic Infrastructure (OSI). You will lead a team that assures the availability of supplies, equipment, and transportation assets. You will also develop budgets, staffing plans, and strategic directions with the Facilities, Test and Center Operations Directorate and OSI.
Duties
Serves as Chief of the Logistics and Property Management Office. Provides logistics services for Glenn Research Center (GRC) including property management and surveillance, transportation and disposal, fleet management, and delivery of goods.
Performs a supervisory role; makes recommendations for staffing levels; assigns work; defines technical work requirements and milestones; evaluates employee accomplishments; monitors employee performance.
Coordinates logistics functions as outlined in the Office of Strategic Infrastructure Core Definitions e.g., management of warehouse functions/supply/equipment acquisition, GRC transportation services/management of personal property for the Center.
Provides budget development, staffing requirements and technical oversight to logistics contractors.
Maintains comprehensive knowledge required to support GRC operations; reviews past work histories and known future requirements, determines future resource requirements, estimates strategic budgetary, warehouse, equipment needs and resources.
Interfaces with Enterprise-wide personnel and leads a team of logistics and support personnel to troubleshoot issues and develop/implement solutions.
Perform a full range of supervisory duties which includes assigning and evaluating work; recommending personnel actions; taking disciplinary actions; and identifying training needs and developing employees.

Requirements
- Current Federal employees must meet qualifications, time in grade, and 90 days after competitive appointment requirements by the closing date of the announcement.

- A one-year supervisory probationary period may be required.
- If the individual selected is currently at the GS-15 grade level, they will be detailed at their current grade and step. If the individual is a current GS-14 they will be temporarily promoted to the GS-15 level.
Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
To qualify for GS-15, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level
Overseeing and/or ensuring delivery of products and services for logistics operations such as, warehouse operations, transportation, equipment management, inventory, or similar activities;
Developing and/or implementing program planning, budgeting development and budget management for an organization and/or office;
Evaluating contractor technical, schedule, and budget performance evaluations.
