The Office of Inspector General is an independent office within the EPA that helps the agency protect the environment in a more efficient & cost effective manner. We perform audits, evaluations, & investigations of the EPA to promote economy, efficiency, and to prevent and detect fraud, waste and abuse. Duties

This position is located in the Office of Strategic Analysis and Results, Data Analytics Directorate. The Data Analytics Directorate supports the Office of Audit, the Office of Evaluation, and the Office of Investigations by leveraging advanced analytics that highlight key risk areas to program integrity within EPA programs and operations.

Qualifications

All applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following: GS-12: 1) Apply code writing and programming languages (SQL, Python, R, SAS, Power Query, DAX) to analyze disparate and large datasets; 2) Apply code writing and programming languages (Python, R) to extract, transform and load disparate and large datasets; 3) Create and present data visualizations using Power Bl Desktop, 12 Analyst Notebook or similar Link Analysis software, ArcGIS Pro, Tableau and/or SAP Business Objects; 4) Document work product and create written reports for clients; and 5) Experience working with audits, evaluations, and/or investigations. GS-13: 1) Leads and advises a small team on the best practices and methodologies for analyzing and reporting on data; 2) Apply code writing and programming languages (SQL, Python, R, SAS, Power Query, DAX) to analyze disparate and large datasets; 3) Apply code writing and programming languages (Python, R) to extract, transform and load disparate, large, structured and unstructured datasets; 4) Create and present data visualizations using Power Bl Desktop, 12 Analyst Notebook or similar Link Analysis software, ArcGIS Pro, Tableau and/or SAP Business Objects; 5) Apply automation processes to data collection, transformation, and reporting products to reduce manual processes; 6) Document work product and create written reports for clients; and 7) Experience working with audits, evaluations, and/or investigations.
