As a supervisor/manager, the selectee for this position will be eligible to receive a Manager Performance Incentive (MPI) provided eligibility requirements noted in agency policy are met. The MPI is an annual lump-sum incentive payment that considers agency performance, the manager's individual performance, and available funding.This position is in the Air Traffic Organization (ATO), Deputy Chief Operating Officer, Operations, Joint Air Traffic Operations Command (JATOC).
Duties
The Aviation Technical Systems Manager serves Systems as the JATOC General Manager (GM). The GM to applies a detailed knowledge of air traffic, technical operations, and National Airspace Systems (NAS) operations, systems, and equipment to oversee and provide an ATO unified response to significant NAS aviation incidents, major events, and natural disasters. The GM manages the JATOC which is a complex integrated organization consisting of a core group of highly technical experts serving on Watch Teams and ad hoc integrated teams from all ATO operational Service Units (SU). These teams operate on daily 24/7 shifts with a core complement of permanent Duty Officers and Watch Officers supplemented by numerous detailees. This is a major national program and component of the ATO whose activities impact directly on goals and objectives of the ATO, and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), This work is critical to the continued management and safety of the NAS.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-K, FG/GS-15 level. This experience is typically related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE DEFINED AS:Experience managing and provides operational direction and leading incident response for aviation incidents, natural disasters and other events. ANDExperience developing post event analysis and quality assessments of services and identifies areas to improve efficiency.You should include relevant examples of the specialized experience in your work history.
