This position will be assigned to JBSA Canyon Lake, TX.
This is a flexible category position with no guaranteed hrs., may work up to 40 hrs./wk. Scheduled as needed. Employees appointed to flexible positions are not eligible for benefits.
Duties
Assists in the operation of the camping/picnic programs. Collects fees and charges. Rents and issues recreation equipment.
Checks eligibility of patrons. Accepts reservations for Outdoor Recreation facilities. Assists in monitoring the upkeep of grounds,
camping facilities and equipment. Makes recurring security checks on grounds, camping facilities and equipment. Makes
recurring security checks on grounds, marina, facilities, boats and moorings when Ground leader is not available. Assist in daily
reports. Assists in monitoring activities (e.g. volksmarch, youth camps, hiking, scout camps, and etc). Works uncommon tour of
duty including weekends and holidays. Performs other related duties as assigned. This work requires continuous walking, standing
and stooping. Moderate physical effort is required on a continual basis in performance of the manual cleaning tasks described.
Must be able to frequently lift and carry light to medium objects weighing 10 to 30 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds or
more in order to push and move furniture. Must be able to climb a six foot ladder for high cleaning. Must be able to follow oral
and/or written instructions. Works inside and outside in all types of weather such as heat, cold, and rain. May come in contact
with strong cleaning agents when working in the housekeeping department. Danger of falls from slippery surfaces or when
working on ladders. May operate government vehicle to include light truck, sedan, golf cart etc. Performs other duties as
assigned.

Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
- This position has been identified as a Test Designated Position (TDP). The incumbent of this position will be subject to and must consent to a pre-employment and random drug testing. Must have a valid driver's license.
- This position has physical lifting requirement which requires the incumbent to complete a favorable pre-employment physical. Must be able to lift and carry 10 - 30 lbs. and occasionally 50 lbs.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.

Qualifying Experience:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's): You qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Basic knowledge of the rules and practices of outdoor recreation activities.
2. Practical skills in the use and maintenance of various equipment and facilities.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
