You will serve as a Public Engagement Coordinator for the Small Business Administration (SBA), Office of Disaster Recovery and Resilience, Disaster Policy, Planning, and Partnerships Division in Washington, District of Columbia. This position is responsible for ensuring effective planning, operation, evaluation, and communication with DR&R, SBA Field Offices as well as SBA's internal and external partners.

Duties

As a Public Engagement Coordinator at the GS-0301-14, some of your typical work assignments may include: Ensuring effective planning, operation, evaluation, and communication with internal and external partners. Coordinating and maintaining cooperative relationships with organizations to ensure smooth partnerships. Working with various federal, state, local agencies, and partner organizations to improve the delivery of disaster assistance programs. Maintaining awareness of policies, procedures, regulations, and legislative actions relevant to the agency's disaster assistance program. Establishing products for internal and external use when necessary, focusing on disaster survivor-centric information, impact on the delivery of disaster assistance. IMPORTANT NOTES: This is a Term position, which is a competitive service status position with a full-time work schedule. The Term Appointment does not confer competitive status, reinstatement rights, or eligibility for non-competitive conversion to a permanent job to the individual(s) selected. You may be promoted or reassigned to another term position within SBA's Office of Disaster Recovery & Resilience; however, you may not be non-competitively appointed to another Federal position. You will be given an initial Term Appointment up to 1 year, but not more than 4 years. If all other conditions of employment are met, this appointment may be extended, up to a total of four (4) years in increments determined by SBA. If required to travel to a disaster site, you may encounter hazardous working and/or living conditions, for example, no water or electricity and/or minimal lodging facilities. A valid driver's license may be required. Qualifications

*Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. If qualifying based on related unpaid (e.g. volunteer service) experience, you must provide hours worked per week and beginning/ending dates (mm/yyyy to mm/yyyy). You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Experience: To receive credit, you must indicate the month and year as well as the average hours worked per week for each employer. Average work hours must be stated on the resume to quantify each period of work experience or that experience will not be credited toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. You must address the specific specialized experience required for each grade level of this position on your resume or application or you will be rated "Ineligible" for that grade level. GS-14: To qualify you must have at least 1 full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the GS-13 level in the Federal service that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skill, and ability to perform successfully in this position. This experience may have been gained in a Non-Federal service position. In addition, this Specialized Experience must demonstrate the following: Communicating with various executive-level partners across public, private, philanthropic partners, and stakeholders working directly for chief elected officials or senior executives in a government entity or non-profit agency in disaster-prone areas; Ability to engage and communicate with civic leaders with diverse backgrounds who are not typically involved in the disaster space; Using a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods to identify and engage with a diverse set of stakeholders across various communities; AND Assisting management with the implementation or implementing an agency's goals and objectives during a time(s) of crisis.

There is no educational substitution at this grade level.
