About the Position: Serves as a Food Services Specialist located with the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, Army Field Support Brigade, Fort Jackson, South Carolina.

Duties

Responsible for all aspects of full food service contract management to support the Army Training Center mission. Advise the Contracting Officer on technical requirements of food service management, operations, staffing, dining facility capabilities and capacities, equipment, and all matters relating to the food service contract operations. Serve as the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) for the installation full food service contract consisting of large garrison dining facilities that serve millions of meals annually. Responsible for planning contract surveillance and reviewing quality assurance evaluators findings and determining contract performance adequacy. Perform facility inspections of contractor operated facilities and installation status report services using the online portal.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) security clearance.
  • Position requires temporary duty (TDY) business travel approximately 5% of the time.
  • Incumbent must possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • Incumbent must obtain and maintain a COR certificate in accordance with AR 5-14 (2-8) within 1 year of hire.
  • Incumbent is expected to make every attempt to report for duty on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Contract Management/SupportFood Service OperationsTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
