The incumbent performs a variety of tasks that involve receiving and logging receipts and storage of stock. Receiving, storing, handling, and issuing supplies, materials, and equipment. Routing and expediting movement of parts, supplies, and materials in production facilities.
Duties
Major Duties:
Receives and logs receipt and storage of stock.
Receives, stores, handles, and issues supplies, materials, and equipment.
Routes and expedites movement of parts, supplies, and materials in production facilities.
Sorted items are received into automation systems, following established procedure, but require adjustments and modifications when packaging of received product varies from unit of issue in computer.
Determines sequences of loading and unloading, develops space utilization plans, and implements movement of materials from dock to storage in automated areas and/or backup areas.
Reviews stock based on turnover rate and space availability and recommends increases or decreases as appropriate.
Processes receiving reports promptly after receipt to ensure timely payments to vendors.
Performs follow-up and routine audits to validate receipts of items are accurate and accounted for.
Verifies merchandise received fully agrees with description, quantity, etc. on receiving reports and each item has the appropriate stock number indicated.
Sorts product by lot number, expiration date, and zone.
Ensures accuracy of received items to include costing information utilized to invoice customers.
Lays out storage space and establishes item and material locations in accordance with general agency regulations for warehouse configuration, taking into consideration movement, rearrangement, and traffic flow.

Evidence which demonstrates you possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of this position must be supported by detailed descriptions of such on your resume. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualification Standards.
SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT: Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element, which usually appears as question 1 in the on-line questionnaire. Those applicants who appear to possess at least the minimal acceptable qualification requirement are considered for further rating; those who do not are rated ineligible and are eliminated. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: Often stands on hard surfaces for extended periods of time, and bends, stoops, and works in tiring and sometimes uncomfortable positions. Lifts and carries items that weigh up to 50 pounds. Heavier items are moved with weight-handling equipment or assistance from other workers.
