You qualify for the GS-09 grade level if you possess one of the following:
Experience: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as:
Carrying out the assignments in conformance with accepted policies and practices for
assigned program areas;
Exercising judgement in selecting and applying available guidelines related to specific
problems or issues;
Applying practical knowledge of the basic concepts, principles, regulations, and policies
related to logistics and procurement management; AND
Identifying situations or issues and chooses the best approach according to established
procedures and practices.
OR
Education: have a master's degree (or equivalent graduate degree such as a L.L.B./J.D.) or two (2) academic years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of successfully completed graduate level education and experience. Graduate level education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level, which is 1 year, may be used to qualify at the GS-09. This will be calculated using your resume and unofficial transcripts or a list of courses/course hours submitted with your application.
You qualify for the GS-11 grade level if you possess one of the following:
Experience: To qualify as a Mission Support Specialist, GS-0301-11, you must possess at least one (1) year of full-time specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-9 performing duties such as:
Monitoring and advising on a variety of administrative problems or situations (i.e. budget,
personnel, travel, space, logistics);
Exercising judgment in choosing, interpreting, applying, and modifying available guidelines
for adaptation to specific problems or issues
Identifying administrative problems or issues related to logistics and procurement
management; AND
Identifying a variety of issues and their factual relationships, analyzes relevant factors and
conditions and chooses a course of action from many alternatives;
OR
Education: have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or three (3) academic years of
progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree;
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of successfully completed graduate
level education and experience. Graduate level education in excess of the amount required for
the next lower grade level, which is 2 years, may be used to qualify at the GS-11. This will be
calculated using your resume and unofficial transcripts or a list of courses/course hours
submitted with your application.
You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-11 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as:
Identifying ways to improve or enhance a variety of administrative programs or projects
to meet organization objectives.
Gathering, interpreting, and analyzing the effects of change in laws and regulations to ensure
effective and efficient application.
Analyzing complex issues and identify course of action, modify standard procedures, and
solve a variety of issues related to logistics and procurement management.
Researching and evaluating information and precedent cases to provide advice, guidance,
and recommend solutions.
