This position is located in the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Assistant Secretary for Public and Indian Housing.
Duties
As a/an Office Administrator, you will:
Perform local purchases for the immediate Office; prepare purchase request and purchase orders for supplies and services from the local market. Assist and advise superiors on local purchase matters. Participate in conducting investigations involving lost, stolen, missing and/or damaged property.
Screens regulations, circulars, and other publications, and brings those of significance to the attention of the SES's attention. In the absence of the SES, maintains a file of correspondence and events, which the SES should be aware of upon his/her immediate return.
Prioritize and carry out special assignments, coordinating with other organizations as required and keep SES informed of status of actions.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-11 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-9 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
- Collecting, analyzing & reviewing information for special projects; AND
- Researching, gathering & compiling data to prepare reports; AND
- Using multiple automated offices systems to process and complete workload; AND
- Independently creating and reviewing office correspondence for correct grammar, punctuation, format and writing style;
OR Education: You may substitute education for general or specialized experience as follows: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.M., if related.
OR Combination: You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. This is creditable providing the combination consists of 100% of the requirement. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 36 semester hours (54 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education. (Attach a copy of transcripts to ensure you receive proper credit).
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resume.
Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-11 you must have been at the GS-9 level for 52 weeks.
Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
