This position is with the Small Business Administration, GCBD - Area 2 - DC at one of the listed locations. The incumbent serves as an authoritative area program point of contact for SBA staff, federal agencies, businesses and Congress. This position serves as a full deputy to the Area Director.

Requirements

  • You must be a U.S. Citizen
  • You must successfully complete a background investigation.
  • You may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.
  • You may be required to serve a one year supervisory probationary period.
  • Requires eligibility for access to Secret information
  • This is a (drug) testing designated position (TDP).

Qualifications

GS-14 Specialized Experience: At least one year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-13 grade level) in the federal service which demonstrates the ability to work independently and includes the following: (1) Applying and interpreting knowledge of federal procurement small business laws, regulations, policies, and procedures to support businesses for compliance with regulations pertaining to federal contracts or subcontracts; AND (2) Reach conclusions that small businesses are eligible to compete for federal related contracts (i.e. small business application relating to procurement analysis; subcontracting analysis, size determinations, natural resource procurements, responsibility or competency). It is available for your review on OPM's Qualifications web site: General Business and Industry Series, 1101 Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. TIME-IN-GRADE: If you are a current career or career-conditional federal employee applying for promotion under Merit Promotion you must have completed a minimum of 52 weeks in positions at the next level lower than the position being filled. All qualification requirements must be met by 11:59 pm (Eastern Time) on 01/25/2024.
