You will serve as a FINANCIAL TECHNICIAN in the Financial Management Divisionof NAVDRUGLAB GREAT LAKES IL.

Duties

You will provide account maintenance and accounting support work to verify, maintain, and reconcile accounts. You will review requisitions to determine adequacy and completeness of description, which may involve research of various rules, regulations and procedures that are consistently changing. You may be designated as a Government-wide Commercial Purchase Card Holder in compliance with regulations and dollar limitations for micro-purchase authority You will prepares and submit requisitions for maintenance and obtain the necessary supplies, equipment, forms publications, services, etc. You will provide professional customer service for urgent critical shortage of items or other items requiring special handling to meet the needs of the NDSL-GL requiring tact, diplomacy and cooperation.

Requirements

• The incumbent must file an OGE Form 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report upon selection and annually thereafter
• Financial Management (FM) Certification Level 1 is required within 2 years of selection to this position.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-08) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: . Utilizing practical knowledge of accounting, budget, and other financial management methods and techniques; Applying knowledge of field purchasing procedures in compliance with upper echelon regulations, policies and, organizational supply operating system procedures, (e.g., Naval Supply System operating procedures); Applying microcomputer technology, software, and perform database entry, maintenance and spreadsheet techniques to produce reports and a wide range of documentation requiring complex formats and other electronic data processing for purchasing and reports; AND Maintaining accounts in the support of the receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit and custody of cash items which includes the use of cash accountability control methods.
