The Office of Inspector General is an independent office within the EPA that helps the agency protect the environment in a more efficient & cost effective manner. Duties
This position is located in the EPA Office of Inspector General’s Office of Special Review and Evaluation, Administrative Investigations Directorate (AID).
Requirements
- You must be a U.S. citizen.
- Background Investigation Required.
- Pre-employment drug testing is required and random testing thereafter.
- This position requires a Top Secret Clearance.
- Writing sample (3-5 pages)
Qualifications
All applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal Service.
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.
Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
GS-12: Applicant must possess one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade of GS-11 or equivalent band level of responsibility in the Federal service which demonstrates the following:
1) Assisting in planning, organizing, and directing administrative investigations; 2) Gathering and analyzing investigative information, including conducting interviews; 3) Assisting in drafting reports of investigations, documents and summaries of results; and 4) Assisting investigative attorneys or other personnel prepare briefings to senior level stakeholders and officials concerning investigative activities and findings.
GS-13: Applicant must possess one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade of GS-12 or equivalent band level of responsibility in the Federal service which demonstrates the following:
1) Independently conducting investigations and validating allegations; 2) Gathering and analyzing investigative information, including conducting interviews; 3) Drafting reports of investigations, documents and summaries of results; and 4) Prepare and present briefings to senior level stakeholders and officials concerning investigative activities and findings.
