This position is located in the Associate Director's Office and serves as a resource person, providing administrative leadership and coordination in the
development, implementation, evaluation, interpretation, revision and, when necessary, corrective action of applicable administrative functions, activities, operations, and programs as delegated.

Duties

Duties include and are not limited to the following:
Administrative Management
Provides for the overall administrative management for the Assistant and Associate Director. This may include interpreting administrative policies, developing implementing local policies, defining administrative requirements, and/or providing advice to top management on related issues.
Supports administrative systems to ensure review of national policy by the area of responsibility to support update to local procedure, protocol, or other requirements.
Advises on composition/format, reviews and evaluates submissions for quality, appropriate coordination, consistency, logic, soundness of recommendations, and compliance
Furnishes information on procedures, directives, and policy
Ensures the integrity and effectiveness of the defined system of records
Analyzes management plans; determines impact on administrative processes
Assignments include and are not limited to:
Timekeeping management/monitoring
Equipment Inventory List (EIL) maintenance
Conference Room schedule
Interactive facility map maintenance
Talent Management System (TMS) Administrator duties.
Coordinates continuing education for the Associate and Assistant Director staff
Acts as the liaison with Human Resource Management for a wide range of personnel-related matters including Staffing and Employee/Labor Relations activities
Serves as the primary ADPAC for the Associate and Assistant Director; participates on the ADPAC Committee
Program Analysis
Ensures compliance with national and VA requirements including the Office of the Inspector General, The Joint Commission, and visits by Veteran Service Organizations
Resolves or assists in resolving a variety of problems
Triages the importance of issues, identify key staff as resources, and make prompt decisions
Provides management assistance for relevant councils, committees, and meetings
Monitors actions with designated time frames and deadlines
Participates in planning and conduct of special projects/studies to analyze, evaluate, and provide recommendations
Determines pertinent issues and collects relevant information
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 0800-1630hrs
Telework: VA supports the use of telework as a way to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity, and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies. This position may be authorized for telework. Telework eligibility will be discussed during the interview process.

TO QUALIFY FOR THIS POSITION AT THE GS-09 LEVEL YOU MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: At least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-7) in the Federal Service that has given me the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform the duties this position. Specialized experience consists of performing a wide variety of administrative duties in functional areas including equal opportunity, merit promotion, employee/labor-management relations, and position management; performing personnel management operations; Participates in the planning and conduct of special projects; Researches and analyzes problems, issues and program requirements; Conducts SharePoint management and monitoring activities, workflow, and form development.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment: The work is primarily sedentary, although some slight physical effort may be required. Work is typically performed in an adequately lighted and climate-controlled office. May require occasional travel.
