Training Coordinator position is located in the Office of the Chief, Health Administrative Service (HAS). Employee is responsible for performing task in support of the development of training plans for new employees in all section of the HAS Service. Under the direction of the Chief or Assistant Chief, HAS, employee performs work in direct support of assessing educational needs.
Duties
Duties Include, but not limited too:
Utilizes various training styles to train diverse types of employees with differing education levels.
Assists employees in achieving mandatory training hours by suggesting job related TMS courses.
Identifies and determines training priorities, conducts and administers training programs, develops and improves training guidance, and conducts classes or other group-setting instruction.
Develops and modifies courses and researches and recommends new or alternative training sources for a workforce which performs complex duties in diversified areas of patient administration.
Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates training courses and programs related to scheduling to assess their quality and effectiveness.
Identifies and determines training priorities, conducts and administers training programs, develops and improves training guidance, and conducts classes or other group-setting instruction.
Utilizes Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint software to develop training tools and materials.
Utilizes the Veterans Health Information System and materials.
Utilizes the Veterans Health Information System and Technology Architecture (VistA), Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS), Talent Management System (TMS), VistA GUI, and other VA operating systems to perform regular duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm

Qualifications
o qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 01/25/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-11 position you must have served 52 weeks at the gs-09. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.

Education: Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- education or a subject area related to the position to be filled.

Specialized Experience: Experience that demonstrated a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include:
Teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s).
Supervising or administering a training program.
Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results.
Work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis.

Carefully read the following descriptions of the required specialized experience for the position. Your resume must support your response. Applicants must have one (1) full year of specialized experience related to this position.
This experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level in the Federal Service.
Specialized experience: Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Analyze/evaluate information, interpret guidance, and provide guidance; Develop and participate in the facilitation of training events; Prepare written and electronic reports; Participate in the development of the facility's developmental/training plan; Develop tailored curriculum and/ or syllabi annually; Perform program management and administrative work related to training; Organize and set priorities for development experiences; Develop metrics and measure development; Develop training programs; Provide instructional training in a face to face or virtual environment; Public speaking experience.

Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related Education cannot be credited without documentation.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.
Physical Requirements: Work is mostly sedentary although there maybe some nominal walking or standing for short periods of time. The work involves coping with complex, persistent demands from a variety of sources that can be regarded as a high-pressure work situation. Good eyesight and hand dexterity is necessary to allow for reading from CRT, and accessing infonnation from the various computer systems. Good hearing and speech abilities are necessary in order to handle the extensive telephone contacts. Work sometimes requires Jong hows to meet project deadlines and to devise corrective action for unexpected technical crises. This can result in a highly stressful work situation. Occasional overnight travel is required.
Due to the nature of the assignments, the incumbent must also possess emotional and mental stability.
