About the position: This position will be assigned to Buckley Outdoor Recreation.
This position is guaranteed 35-40 hours a week and comes with Medical and Dental, Group Life Insurance, 401(k), and Retirement benefits.
Duties
The purpose of this position is to assist the Recreation Specialist Director with managing, planning, and coordinating the outdoor recreation front counter operation and to provide oversight for the retail sales and RV lot rentals to include but not limited to Information Tickets and Tours Program, Fam Camp, and RV Storage lot. Assists the manager with off-base contracts as they relate to the ski/equipment rental shop and the initiation of purchase requests for all equipment, supplies, and resale merchandise for Outdoor Recreation rental activities/events. Approves/disapproves leave. Prepares and issues disciplinary actions, work schedules, and perfonnance evaluations. Ensure that procedures to monitor and protect equipment assets, resale inventory, and cash are followed. Responsible for training of lower level staff as related to ski rentals, tuning, and rental check out procedures. Responsible for monthly inventory of resale merchandise and for control of the same. Provides customer guidance for the selection of equipment assist customers with equipment, sells retail merchandise, and informally/formally demonstrates equipment usage procedures. Provides oversight for receipt and issuing equipment on a daily basis and occasionally creates displays to attract customer purchase/use. Ensures all sales, fees, and charges, are conducted properly and proper handling procedures are follower per AF instructions and other operating instructions. Prepares all daily financial paperwork related to the front counter operation and makes deposits. Purchases resale merchandise, tracks resale inventory, and ensures proper resale procedures are followed. Ensures front counter personnel are aware of all Outdoor Recreations programs, policies, and procedures as provided by OAP. Assist Recreation Specialist Director with tracking all data related to front counter operation and ensuring all policies and procedure are current and followed by assigned personnel. In the absences of the manager serves as the Recreation Specialist Director when the incumbent is out of the facility and/or on leave. Serves as the facility manager. Oversees training for all ODR personnel, to include training plans, procedures, and documentation. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifying Experience:
Applicant must have progressively responsible recreation experience at the lower pay band or equivalent, i.e. city/state parks and recreation, outdoor programs/outfitters/ski/bike rental/resorts, or related education experience that demonstrate the ability to independently manage and carry out continuing recreational projects or programs through proper application of principles, concepts, and techniques of recreation to the specific needs of the community served. Must be able to develop employee work schedules and perform office organization and clerical work related to the duties assigned. Knowledge of outdoor equipment and its usage is required. Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Knowledge of REC TRAC program highly desirable. Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English. Must be able to efficiently operate computers and cash registers. Must be able to obtain first aid and CPR certification within 30-day of appointment. Subject to satisfactory completion of a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI). Position requires a pre-employment physical. Must have a valid driver's license. Education
