Duties
Serves as the Chief of the Military Personnel Division with overall responsibility for the Military Personnel Management Program.
Through subordinate supervisors, assigns, directs, and evaluates work of subordinate organization elements.
Develop performance standards, evaluate the performance of key supervisors, and review the evaluation made by subordinate supervisors of others.
Serves as the Chief of the Military Personnel Division with overall responsibility for the Military Personnel Management Program.
Assist the mission commander G-1 in maintaining readiness of all deployable units and cross-levels personnel as required.
Execute the functions related to providing human resources (HR) services involving the procurement, assignment and utilization of military personnel.
Manage the Retirement Services Program and determines ID Card/DEERS eligibility for active duty, reserve components, retired, and family members.
Advise the Commanders and Leaders at all levels, including HQs staff on military personnel policies, and administrative procedures.
Advise supervisor on problems which may have an impact installation-wide or may affect broader programs.
Serve as the Installation liaison for special interest correspondence regarding Human Resources (Military) programs.
Responsible for implementation of mobilization plans, systems, and procedures at the installation.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Administering, maintaining, advising, and adapting concepts, principles, and theories of Human Resources to an Organization and its mission requirements. 2) Assisting in the development of Human Resources policies and procedures. 3) Provide recommendations to improve procedural and regulatory deficiencies in program areas. 4) Monitoring programs such as retirements and casualty affairs. 5) Assigning workload according to availability and capability of subordinate employees. 6) Developing and initiating appropriate corrective measures to resolve human resource operational problems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
