This position is located in the Division of Nursing Services,Tohatchi Health Clinic, Tohatchi, NM. The primary purpose of this position is to perform 4 major functional areas of Community Intervention, Public Health education, nursing care, and quality management
Duties
Assist a higher-level nurse to develop competency in monitoring health status of the population to identify community health problems, in diagnosing, investigation, and surveillance.
Collaborate and share health information with patients/families and other community resources.
Apply public health and nursing science in the delivery of care to individuals, families, and communities and prioritize interventions and evaluate outcomes.
Participate in continuous evaluation of program and services, and performance improvement using literature based test practices.
Perform other related duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):
Education: A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
Degree from Foreign Nursing School: Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools.
Licensure: All applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination. In addition, they must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
In addition, to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below-
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
GS 07: To qualify at the GS-07 grade level, applicants must meet one of the following qualification requirements:
Possession of a bachelor's degree in Nursing and eligibility under the Superior Academic Achievement provision;- OR-
Possession of a bachelor's degree in Nursing and at least one full year of professional nursing experience(equivalent to the GS-5 grade level); -OR-
Possession of a diploma or associate degree in professional nursing and two full years of professional nursing experience; -OR-
Completion of at least one full year of graduate education in a professional nursing educational program. Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Deliver health and nursing care to individuals, families, and schools within the communities using initiative, judgment in coverage a range of nursing services thought counseling, teaching followup within established plans, and policies.
You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
