You will serve as a PRESCRIPTION EYEGLASS FINAL INSPECTOR WORKER in the Final Inspection Department of NAVOPHTHALSUPPTRACT VA.
Duties
You will ensure eyewear meets ANSI standards.
You will inspect ophthalmic lenses and eyewear.
You will inspect small tools used for final lens inspections to determine if they need replaced.
You will inspect completed eyeglass work products to verify compliance with requirements, quantity produced, and quality of workmanship.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
Qualifications

Verifying finished ophthalmic lenses and eyewear products ensuring accuracy to prescribed prescription including power of distance and reading, axis, and pupillary distance
Checking eyewear for proper frame and lens bench alignment and making minor adjustments to the frame and lens when required
Using lens analyzer and lensometer to perform quality assurance checks of lenses
Verifying equipment calibration prior to start of daily activities
Ensuring lenses and eyewear products are in compliance with current American National Standards Institute (ANSI) guidelines.
