You will serve as a OPERATIONS RESEARCH ANALYST with the Department of the Navy, Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Financial Management and Comptroller.
Duties
You will perform cost assessments, cost sufficiency reviews, and other cost analyses.
You will participate in studies to Improve methodologies for estimating life cycle costs for weapon platform programs and automated Information systems.
You will collect, analyzes, and normalizes data needed for cost estimating.
You will conduct studies to improve methodologies for estimating life cycle costs for platform programs.
You will evaluate and develop, with mathematical, statistical, economic, and engineering techniques.
Requirements

Qualifications
FOR GS-13 In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialize experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Expert knowledge of the theories, principles, and practices of cost analysis to develop independent cost estimates; applying quantitative techniques and methodologies to evaluate cost data; preparing cost models and/or estimates for weapon systems programs; evaluating cost and schedule data to develop cost estimating relationships for analysis.
FOR GS-12 In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialize experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying theories, principles, and practices of cost analysis to develop cost estimates; applying quantitative techniques and methodologies to evaluate cost data and cost models; performing risk analyses.

Education
Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess:
Degree: in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.
