You will serve as a INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN/CUSTSPT) in the Information Technology Department, N6 of NAVRESREDCOM MIDWEST.
Duties
You will review, approve, and track to completion of all local service requests and all NMCI area Customer Technical representative (ACTR)request for creating, moving or deactivating accounts (Move-Add-Changes, M/A/Cs).
You will apply customer support principles; install systems bases; IT security principles; methods and procedures for documenting resolutions, problem resolution data bases; troubleshooting and data analysis methods.
You will be responsible for maintenance of related INFOSEC instructions, and ensure appropriate security documents are posted to command websites.
You will provide users advise and notification in regard to security issues affecting both NMCI and non-NCMI systems.
You will be assisting in or serve as a member of a team of the accomplishment of special studies or projects, and coordinates efforts to implement mandatory technical standards of legacy systems.
You will recommend changes in agency policy and procedures.

- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area IT level I IA W CHAPTER 5 OF SECNA V M-5510.30 within 6 months of appointment.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-07) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
One year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: verifying hardware and software and equipment are in accordance with DOD policy and directives.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Maintaining customer hardware and resolving software problems in response to customer reported incidents.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Working with personnel to plan, coordinate and resolve issues by influencing people to work towards mutual goals and have basic cooperative attitudes.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Troubleshooting, diagnosing hardware/software interoperability problems by repairing and applying software patches.
In addition to above experience your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector such as:
Experience approving and reviewing requests for any hardware changes, equipment moves, network installation, software installations, and facility changes (physical and administrative M/A/C's). Knowledge of all aspects of e-Marketplace administration to include user training, access control invoicing, and e-forms for M/A/C submissions in the NMCI environment.
Experience reviewing order invoicing for each subordinate site for accuracy each before routing to the CTR including account maintenance in the e-Marketplace (invoicing tool) for order approval and tracking task order modifications.
Experience processing standards, polices, and procedures to analyze and advise manager on systems matters and evaluate the need for changes in existing policies and procedures.
Experience on equipment characteristics, computer techniques, requirements, methods, and procedures.
Experience applying Information Technology Security regulation, requirement and procedures, project management principles and methods, measurement methods, tools, and techniques; acquisition management policies and procedures, analytical methods and practices.
Experience of new or revised policies, practices, and technical management guidelines to provide advisory services, consultation, technical assistance and/or training.

Education
Education: All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions
Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management
or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
- Successfully completed a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree.
OR
- Successfully completed 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree.
