Duties

Plans, markets and conducts an ongoing program to provide conditioning programs for facility users. Instructs individuals and groups in the proper conditioning and training for aerobic and muscular fitness, body composition and flexibility. Instructs patrons in the proper use of equipment and self-monitored progress by preparing written instructions and procedures for use of equipment and safety of all users. Supervises assigned personnel. Performs other duties as assigned.

• A one year probationary period may be required.
• Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
• Successfully complete an occupational health screening.
• Must be able to work early mornings, late evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
• Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para. 2. to include a Tier 1 background investigation

Qualifications

1. Experience which enables the candidate to independently carry out a basic physical fitness program. 2. Education or experience in managing a physical fitness program. Highly Preferred Criteria: 1. Possess a Personal Training Certification and Group Class Instructor Certification. 2. A degree in Health & Fitness or two (2) years' experience in the Health & Fitness field and high school diploma. 3. Possess a current nationally recognized certification CPR & AED. 4. Knowledge and understanding on how to plan, develop, and conduct a diversified fitness program through proper application of the fitness principles, concepts and techniques. Note: Resume must reflect the qualifications stated in the announcement and assessment/questionnaire. Applicants possessing highly preferred skills and/or experience will be referred first to the selecting official for hiring consideration. If a highly preferred applicant is not selected for the position then the selection official will receive another referral list consisting of applicants who met the minimal qualification standards.
