This position is part of the Interior Business Center (IBC), Human Resources Directorate (HRD), IBC HRD Security and Drug and Alcohol Testing Div. The incumbent will be responsible for supervising a staff of Drug Program Specialists.
Duties
Provides technical guidance, advice, and assistance to subordinates; assigns, monitors, and reviews work; responsible for identifying, distributing, and balancing workload and tasks among assigned staff in accordance with established work flow, skill level; making adjustments to accomplish the workload in accordance with established priorities to ensure timely accomplishment of assigned tasks; and ensuring that each employee has an integral role in
developing the final product.
Tracks and provides input to Branch Chief regarding team metrics in meeting established milestones and deadlines in the completion of team assignments, tasks, objectives, and goals.
Provides input to Branch Chief in the development of policy. Assists with planning evaluation, goal setting, interpretation, and execution, and the analyses of Branch procedures and objectives in order to meet current and future mission needs.
Provides training to customers and subordinate employees on DFWP
Qualifications
At the GS-13 level, you must meet the following qualification: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12?level. Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Examples of specialized experience for this position include: performing specimen collections where chain of custody is an integral part of the collection process; identifying customer-related problems and making recommendations to solve problems or coordinating with other parties to find a remedy; answering customer inquiries through phone, fax and email to bring quick resolution to issues; applying laws, regulations, policies or procedures when solving customer requests; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of applications, especially Excel (or Google Sheets); and performing duties as a supervisor, team lead, project manager or experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct and organize work assignments for lower graded personnel.

TIME-IN-GRADE: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b).
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
