Duty Location: Lower Colorado Basin, Phoenix Area Office, Administrative Services Division located in Glendale, AZ.
Full time telework and remote work not available; housing not provided.
Duties
Receives phone calls and greets all visitors for the Phoenix Area Office; determines which calls can be answered personally and which should be directed elsewhere by identifying needed information and locating the appropriate person to be contacted or directed.
Coordinates PXAO training activities based on knowledge of organizational objectives, program needs, and training forecasts. Schedules annual block training for supervisors and employees.
Composes and prepares confidential, routine and non-technical correspondence, reports, forms, and other documents for the Administrative Officer and division personnel into final format using a computer. Composes non-technical and routine memorandums concerning problems which arise in the supervisor's area of responsibility.
Coordinates PXAO's payroll activities. Advises and assists timekeepers in the use of the ETAS automated system. Conducts training classes for new timekeepers and informs Office staff of changes to policies and regulations. Coordinates the processing and transmission of biweekly time and attendance data.
Qualifications
In order to qualify at the GS-07 grade level, your resume must reflect one year of full time experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level performing all of the following: Typing and generating various reports, editing documents, and extracting data using a personal computer and numerous computer programs and work processing equipment, including Microsoft Office applications. Answering phone calls and greeting visitors, including answering basic inquiries. Maintaining multiple calendars and scheduling meetings for multiple personnel. Making travel arrangements using automated travel systems; and performing time keeping duties for a large organization.
Selective Factor: Applicants must possess typing skill of at least 40 words per minute.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-In-Grade: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower-grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b). Applicants eligible under the Land Management Workforce Flexibility Act (LMWFA) are not required to meet time-in-grade restrictions in order to be considered.
