This SUPERVISORY FINANCIAL SPECIALIST is located in the Army Comptroller Division in the US Property and Fiscal Office (USPFO) and is part of the CA USPFO Army.
Duties
THIS IS A T5 EXCEPTED SERVICE, PERMANENT POSITION.
The primary purpose of the SUPERVISORY FINANCIAL SPECIALIST, GS-0501-12, is to serve as a supervisor (Branch Chief) with technical and administrative supervisory responsibilities to include the oversight of subordinate staff performing work related to a wide spectrum of pay operations (Military Pay, Civilian Pay, Accounts Payable and Travel Pay).
Qualifications
SUPERVISORY FINANCIAL SPECIALIST, GS-0501-12: Must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-11 level, or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal government. This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector, but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the GS grade indicated. Specialized experience may have been demonstrated by performing duties such as: Experience supervising, training, and guiding employees on finance programs, assigning tasks, and addressing employee performance issues. Experience involving balancing finance program work requirements, finance and budget program policies. Experience in technical and administrative skills in pay operations such as, ARNG Military Pay, Civilian Pay, Accounts Payable, and Travel Pay. Experience in applying statutes, laws, DOD Directives, finance regulations and financial management and operating procedures relative to the entitlements and allowances related to the payment of military personnel, civilian personnel, vendors, and travelers. Experience in managing and analyzing data to develop trends. Knowledgeable of the DFAS mission and functions, operation, and relationships to other agencies to respond to special inquiries and task organizations for information and responses.

Education
Undergraduate or graduate education, the awarded college degree should be in one of -or- be a combination of the following disciplines: Accounting, business, finance, economics, math, statistics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organizational management that demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work required.
