You will serve as an Audiovisual Electronics Technician in the Video Project Management Division (VPMD) Visual Information Directorate (VID) of NAVMEDSUP DET BETHESDA MD.

Duties

You will serve as a technician for all audiovisual digital broadcast equipment and systems. You will communicate with professional and technical personnel both as individuals and as a group You will set up and operate a wide variety of cameras, recorders, audio testing and diagnostic equipment in a television studio. You will perform maintenance for all systems, subsystems components, and AV equipment.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • This position is eligible for part time, full time or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements.
  • This position may require occasional travel.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: Setting up and operating a wide variety of analog and digital broadcast audiovisual equipment. Utilizing technical aspects of design construction, and maintenance of broadcast level systems and multi-faceted subsystems. Operating and modifying the component cameras, recorders, audio, testing and diagnostic equipment used in a television studio. Instructing others in equipment usage and operation of equipment during live unrehearsed productions, events and videoconferences. Proper staging and use of varied studio props. SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE:

Two full years of graduate education or a master's degree meets the requirements for GS-9.
