About the Position: Serves as a Facility Operations Specialist located with the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, Army Field Support Brigade, Fort Bliss, Texas.

Duties

Serve as the Assistant Building Coordinator and Facility Maintenance Coordinator to identify problems and/or respond to problems presented by the staff. Develop, analyze, determine, and prepare necessary solutions to correct real property deficiencies. Coordinate meetings with the Department of Public Works and unit stakeholders for analysis of work orders. Maintain and update inventories of organizations real property. Serve as a Facility Operations Specialist, responsible for the development and coordination/accomplishment of facilities management programs. Coordinate the planning, design, cost, engineering, construction, and environmental restoration for projects as measured by the diversity, geographical area, management demands, technical intricacies, and public issues. Serve as the building consultant for operating and staff offices on space management concepts and techniques. Perform inspections of structures and facilities as required for periodic Installation Status Report assessments.v Serve as the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) for facility related service contracts.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
  • Position requires temporary duty (TDY) business travel approximately 25% of the time.
  • Incumbent must possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.

Specialized Experience: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes performing Master Planning duties including review of building layouts, and work/service orders; controlling and managing project milestones and budgets throughout construction operations; preparing procedures and instructions when implementing the space management program; determining construction and restoration for engineering projects; ensuring work orders for maintenance and construction are prepared and processed accurately; knowledge of administrative laws and policies applicable to facilities management; AND skilled in analyzing building specifications, drawings, repairs and changes. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Facilities ManagementFacilities Operations and MaintenanceProject Planning, Design, and ConstructionTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
