Job opening: Parking Management Specialist

Salary: $82 764 - 107 590 per year
Employment Type: Full-time
This position is located in the Department of Labor (DOL), Office of the Assistant Secretary for Administration and Management (OASAM), Business Operations Center (BOC), Office of Administrative Services (OAS). This position manages the operations and administration of the DOL parking program that includes commercial and government agencies. This position is inside the bargaining unit.

Duties

For GS-0301-11: Serves in a developmental capacity performing similar duties as those at the FPL (GS-12) under closer supervision. Independently manages the operational direction and policy guidance of the parking program. Prepares and develops the necessary plans, standard operating procedures and policies to effectively manage the administrative processes and make recommendations to management for implementation. Serves as liaison between DOL management and parking contractors and is the focal point for the processing of requirements. Evaluates parking permit applications and approves/denies applications based on current policies, allocations and parking restrictions. Serves as building parking operations expert. Responds to tenants' complaints and/or inquiries regarding Frances Perkins Building (FBP) parking services Investigates, identifies, and documents client needs and analyzes those needs to propose options and/or specific solutions to resolve dilemmas. Develops written responses to questions and requests for information, explaining moderately complex technical issues. Prepares records on the status of work projects and reports on quality and quantity of contractual work performed. Prepares written reports on parking management processes, deficiencies and recommendation for program improvement. Coordinate parking management issues, ensure responses to permit requests, maintain effective communication with permit holders, applicants, supervisors, and managers.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Candidate required to obtain the necessary security/investigation level.
  • Requires a probationary period if the requirement has not been met.
  • Subject to financial disclosure requirements.

Qualifications

You must meet the Basic Requirements listed in the Specialized Experience to qualify for Parking Management Specialist, as described below. For GS-11 : Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level GS-09 in the Federal Service. Specialized Experience is the experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform the duties of the position successfully, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Qualifying specialized experience for GS-11 includes: Experience in managing the guidance and operational direction of the parking management program; and knowledge of parking plans, policies and database maintenance.
