The position can be located within any jurisdiction of the Architect of the Capitol, Office of the Chief of Operations, Superintendent House Office Buildings, Assistant Superintendent Facilities Management Division, Business Operations Branch, Supply Management Section. The incumbent serves as a Purchasing Agent performing a variety of tasks for the acquisition of supplies, materials, equipment and services for assigned jurisdiction.
Duties
The Tour of Duty for this position is 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. This position is emergency essential - Depending on the type of emergency, the employee may be required to report to work during emergency situations.

You must meet the United States Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) qualification requirements (including specialized experience and/or educational requirements) for the advertised position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Candidates for the GS-08 grade level must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-07 in the Federal service.Specialized experience for this position includes:
1.) Utilizing purchasing regulations, methods, procedures and business practices to make purchases involving specialized and commercial requirements.
2.) Communicating effectively with a variety of individuals from different backgrounds in order to gather information, present recommendations and coordinate services.
3.) Completing critical purchasing tasks in a timely manner.
4.) Utilizing automated processes pertaining to purchasing and purchase orders.
